Sunni Goodson, BA, MSc, HNC (IntDes)

Director of Conservation

Sunni is an Interior Designer and an Historic Buildings Consultant. She holds a BA in American Studies and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; an MSc in Conservation of Historic Buildings from the University of Bath, as well as a higher National Certificate in Interior Design from the Dublin Institute of Design.

 

Sunni has 14 years’ experience working on residential, commercial and ecclesiastical building and interiors projects in Ireland and the United States. Prior to joining Vico Group, she served as the Architectural Conservation Specialist and as the Conservation Interior Designer for two Grade 1 architecture firms (MESH Architects and Fitzgerald Kavanagh & Partners).

 

Sunni also serves on various boards and committees including the Irish Georgian Society Architectural Conservation & Planning Committee, the Heritage Contractors Registration Board, and the Victorian Society in America; she is also a survey editor for the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage.

 

She has prepared multiple Architectural Heritage Impact Assessments and Conservation Reports for valued period buildings. On conservation design projects, Sunni leverages her knowledge of conservation best practice, local authority perspectives on Protected Structures, functional design and building construction logistics to achieve thoughtful, sound, and aesthetic interventions to historic properties.

 

Sunni’s knowledge and experience at construction stage informs her approach to conservation projects, both as a heritage advisor to other designers and as a designer herself. With extensive experience in high-end interior design, Sunni works with the client from the outset to ensure a balanced and curated end result is delivered.
